And we finally got the copy of Ferdinand Uses the Potty book! Yipeee!

Reviewing the book before reading it to my son, I thought to myself what a blessing. I know Ferdinand Uses the Potty book, which tells a tale about Ferdinand the Frog who wets his bed but eventually conquers his potty fear,  is an apt story to read to my son since  he is in the stage of mastering the skill of not wetting the bed at night. (So now you know our bed and our room stinks of urine! )  Okay, Matt does use the potty all the time. He knows how to  poop and pee there, and even uses the flush, too. But it’s actually the bedwetting at night that he has yet to master. 

As for the book, before reading it too him I knew he would enjoy it-thoroughly. And boy was I right. The first time I read the book to him, he was all giggles. Maybe it was because of the colorful and beautifully drawn illustrations all over the book. Or maybe it was just the way the story was presented. I believe it was both plus the fact that the language used in the story can be easily understood by young children. Moreover, the story was written using a rhyming scheme, albeit irregularly, that could be appealing to kids. Infact, Matt was laughing out loud when we got to the part when Ferdie the Frog asked: “I…wet my bed? Are you sure that it came out of me?”  And he was tickled pink with the term “tinkle.” And so we have been using the word tinkle from then on!

He loves the book so much -so much that  after that first time, he asked for me to read it twice to him! And everytime, he never fails to laugh aloud on those parts I mentioned. And actually, the Ferdinand Uses the Potty book is on the table beside our bed as I type this post. So if my son’s reactions were bases to  this review, then I would give a two-thumbs up for this book.
