I really marvel at my son’s knack of troubleshooting electrical/electronic problems. I mean at 3yo (now he’s 4), he’s already mastered the process.
For example, no sound coming out from the PC external speakers. To troubleshoot this, Matt would go down to check if the power cable is plugged in the socket (take note that among the plugs below our table, he can identify which plug is for which device i.e speakers, router, VR etc..). If it’s not plugged, he’d put it on the outlet (he also checks if the outlet is switched on since there’s a red light indicator for “on”; if it’s not, he’d flick the switch on). Then, he’d check if the speaker power is turned on (if not, he turns the knob on) and turns up the knob for the volume. If his efforts do not give the expected result, which rarely happens, he’d then call Mom. ;-)
Have I told you that he knows how to operate the PSP better than I do?
And he can identify which charger is for which device at home i.e. phone, PSP, netbook etc..?
And looking at some ipods now, I remember something. Have I mentioned that he taught me a simple trick in my ipod Touch when he was 3? He surely did.
So is it safe to think that he have acquired some “tinkering” genes from Pops and me then?
