We finally had our visit to the Dev-ped yesterday after months and months of waiting. Pops came home just to be with us during our long-awaited appointment.
I was a little anxious but I knew in my heart everything would turn out okay. And it did.
I’m actually full of details but I know I wouldn’t be able to put everything in one post.
So to summarize, the doctor thinks Matt’s doing okay. She said my son is so smart (of course I know that but her confirmation is sweet ;-) and actually priceless). His communications skill is way above average (especially in a language that is not local) but she observed verbal hyperactivity (in short, dear son is very talkative –of which I am very much aware of).
Some of the concerns I raised were answered and I was assured that most of these issues are normal to a smart and growing toddler like Matt. So there, despite groping in some areas of parenting, I can easily say I’m relieved now. And glad, and really happy with the outcome of our appointment. And for me, the experience (of seeing and consulting a Dev-ped) is precious than diamonds.
